Hynix recently announced that it has signed a cross-licensing agreement with US-based nonvolatile memory developer Ovonyx. Under the agreement, Hynix will be allowed to develop PRAM (Phase-change Random Access Memory) chips utilizing Ovonyx's proprietary patents.

 

By entering into the cross-licensing agreement, Hynix became Ovonyx's latest partner in commercializing Ovonyx's array-addressed memory systems. Ovonyx has previously established similar partnerships with Samsung, Elpida Memory, Intel, BAE Systems, STMicroelectronics, Nanochip, and Qimonda.
